I drag my sled behind me
as the snow crunches under my feet.
Suddenly I am overwhelmed by glee,
sliding down the small hill on repeat.
Some time passes,
maybe an hour or two.
With my already fogged glasses
I can no longer see through.
Thick blanket of snow everywhere,
the nature is dressed completely in white.
Disturbed only by footprints of a bear,
it certainly is a beautiful sight.
Deciding to lay down and rest,
I turn my gaze towards the sky.
Nights like this one are the best,
each star reminds me of a small firefly.
Trying to count them is futile,
no matter how hard I try.
Heading back home, I start to tootle;
on my way, I spot a frozen butterfly.
Inside the see-through ice
its beauty is promptly stored.
In winter, all either sleeps or dies
and most of it still stays unexplored.
At last, I finally arrived home
where the warmth is kept.
My body was already frozen to bone,
so I crawled into a cozy bed and slept.
Dreams drifted through my mind,
recalling the beautiful picture.
The whole galaxy, how the stars shine;
with night, it creates a stunning mixture.
Sunshine creeps through my window,
desperately wanting to stir me awake.
I cover my head with a big fluffy pillow,
for resting a little while longer I ache.
